  • Dejan Kulusevski with two assists
  • City sloppy without Erling Haaland
  • Pape Sarr super goal

Tottenham Hotspur knocked out Manchester City in the EFL Cup, with Dejan Kulusevski setting up two goals on their way to winning 2-1.

Tottenham Hotspur took the lead on a counter attack, after a number of passes, Dejan Kulusevski broke free out right, crossing for Timo Werner to smash past his national counterpart, Stefan Ortega.

Spurs would double their lead 20 minutes later, a lovely worked corner routine allowed Pape Sarr to slot home form 25 yards out.

Manchester City would find a way back in before half time. As Spurs began to sit back, Savinho tested Destiny Udogie, beating him and crossing for Matheus Nunes to tap home at the back post.

Spurs held on in a frantic second half, that required a Yves Bissouma goalline clearance to keep Man City out.
