Did you know that only one Super Bowl has gone into overtime in the entire 56-year-long history of the NFL Championship Game? It happened in 2017 in the famous “28-3 game” which saw the New England Patriots beat the Atlanta Falcons in overtime.

Fast-forward to 2023 and football fans are wondering has the time come for another Super Bowl overtime. Are we going to see that scenario play out in the Kansas City Chiefs vs Philadelphia Eagles game on February 12?

Before Betting on Super Bowl LVII Overtime

Offshore betting sites expect Super Bowl LVII to be one very close affair. They’ve set the spread to just 1.5 points, with the Philadelphia Eagles seen as the favorite.

What’s interesting is that Nick Sirianni’s boys have only recently taken over the role of the Super Bowl favorite. In fact, before the start of the 2022 NFL season, they were way below the Kansas City Chiefs on the list of top Lombardi Trophy candidates.

Knowing all this, it’s clear that Super Bowl LVII is bound to be one very close game, but will it be decided in overtime? If the odds at offshore sportsbooks could talk, they’d say no. However, we do feel as if there’s a lot value in going with this bet.
