Phoenix (13-6) has risen to their familiar spot atop the Western Conference, but a much improved Sacramento (10-8) is going to be no easy out on Monday night. The atmosphere is starting to be electric at the Golden 1 Center as fans want to “light the beam” and Phoenix is just 2-5 on the road this season. Some offshore sportsbooks are even listing this as a ‘Pick ‘Em’ game.
Before Betting on Suns vs Kings
Phoenix has rattled off four wins in a row – but those have all been at home. The Suns will try to break a three game road losing streak when they visit the Kings on Monday night. Sacramento is much improved this season, but they also still played Phoenix close at the Golden 1 Center, losing 109-104 and 127-124 in OT.
Phoenix has gotten back to #1 in the West even with Chris Paul (heel) being out since November 7th. Cameron Johnson (knee) is another fairly significant absence for the Suns, but they’ve gotten solid contributions from Devin Booker (49 points vs. the Jazz recently), Mikal Bridges (season high 16.2 ppg), Deandre Ayton (coming off 29 points / 21 rebounds on Saturday, and even Cameron Payne (double digits in 7 of 8 games that Paul has missed.
Everybody is waiting for the annual Kings meltdown (haven’t made the playoffs since 2006) but this might be the year that it doesn’t happen. Sure Sacramento has lost two in a row – but that was in tough road games at Atlanta (115-106) and Boston (122-104) and came after a seven game win streak. The Kings also have an extra day of rest not playing since Friday’s loss to the Celtics.

One would assume Phoenix turns around their road play at some point, there can’t be this much difference between an 11-1 team at home and a squad that has one road win the last month. The Kings have won six in a row at home though, and this is a big energy game for the Sacramento faithful.
