Shakur Stevenson will make his return to the ring in October, as he bids to successfully defend his WBC lightweight title in Saudi Arabia. Joe Cordina will be standing on the opposite side of the ring, but the challenger is likely to be a huge outsider in the betting.

There is no denying that Shakur Stevenson is one of the most exciting boxers on the planet. His potential was clear from an early age after winning silver in the bantamweight division at the 2016 Olympics. Since turning professional, Stevenson has continued to excel, winning all 22 of his bouts, with ten victories being scored by KO.
Despite being just 27 years old, Stevenson is already a three-weight world champion, adding the WBC lightweight title to his collection when scoring a dominant points decision win over Edwin De Los Santos in November 2023. He successfully defended the gold against Artem Harutyunyan earlier this year, and another repeat result will be expected in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in October.
Stevenson’s second defense of the WBC title will come up against another fellow Olympian in the form of Joe Cordina. The British star competed at the Olympics in 2016, and also won gold at the European Championships and bronze at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
The 32-year-old has won 17 of his 18 professional fights, with his only loss coming by TKO when challenging for the IBO super-featherweight title last year against Anthony Cacace. However, he will be aiming to get back on the right track against his American rival in Saudi Arabia in October.
