It has been a very disappointing start to the NHL season for the Ottawa Senators, as they have been beaten in their previous even games. However, they will be looking to get back on track on Friday when they come up against a Philadelphia Flyers side that were beaten in their previous fixture.

There will be pressure on both these sides coming into this fixture on Friday, as there is a need for both to get back to winning ways. That pressure will certainly be on the traveling side, as the Ottawa Senators currently sit towards the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings. Only the Columbus Blue Jackets have picked up fewer points at this stage of the season.

However, no team is in worse form than the Senators in the East, as they have been beaten in their previous seven games. The latest of those defeats was suffered in overtime, as they were edged out by the New Jersey Devils away from home. The Ottawa goals in that narrow defeat were netted by Shane Pinto and Travis Hamonic.

Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Flyers will still be aiming to finish in a playoff spot this season. However, they will need to get back on track, as they have been beaten six times in their previous ten games, with four defeats coming in regulation time.

Their latest defeat came against the side sitting bottom in the Eastern Conference, as the Blue Jackets won 5-2 at home. Meanwhile, the Flyers would have been extremely disappointed with that performance, and their only goals in the loss were scored by Ivan Provorov and Tony DeAngelo.

This is a pretty important fixture for both teams this weekend, but we fancy the chances of the Flyers getting back on track. They will need to respond after such a poor performance against the Blue Jackets earlier this week.
