Manchester United vs Liverpool Preview

The biggest derby of English football won’t be intense as usual this time. While Manchester United sits second, focused on the Europa League, Liverpool is sixth, trying to reach the fourth place and the ticket to the UEFA Champions League next season. The Reds are struggling throughout the entire season, but their performances have been pretty much mediocre. Liverpool has more to lose in this match, as they can’t allow themselves not to win once more. United, however, doesn’t have some big competitive motive, apart from wanting to beat the big rivals. Yet, knowing Solskjaer, that isn’t the first thing on his mind, but the rematch vs Roma.

The Red Devils In High Spirits After Roma

United has one loss in the past 22 matches across all competitions. The single defeat came in the FA Cup against Leicester on the road, but the Red Devils quickly forgot that, bouncing back into the saddle.

United netted at least twice in six of the latest seven matches and is coming off a massive win in the first leg of the Europa League semis against Roma, 6-2. Solskjaer’s boys were trailing at halftime, 1-2, but when the second 45 minutes started, Man Utd’s madness kicked in, and the hosts demolished the Italian rivals.

At the moment, United is perfect at Old Trafford in the past 5 games. They posted wins over West Ham, Brighton, Granada, Burnley, and Roma.

Phil Jones and Anthony Martial are out for this event.

Shaky Season for the Reds

Liverpool is highly inconsistent, with four wins, three losses, and three draws over the last 10 matches. The most recent three were all without winners, one in the UCL against Real Madrid and two in EPL against Leeds and Newcastle.

There is great disharmony on the pitch, with the leading players not getting along with one another. when we add multiple injuries Klopp’s team endured, the sixth place is just a logical consequence. We need to remind you that the Reds played with Kabak and Phillips in the backline against Real, and that such a situation cost them the next round.

Regarding the efficiency, only two of their last 10 games ended with over 2.5 goals, and six saw both teams not to score.

Liverpool will appear without Gomez, Henderson, Matip, Van Dijk and Origi.

Manchester United vs Liverpool Head to Head

United defeated the Reds in the most recent meeting, which took place on January 24 in the FA Cup, 3-2. The first game of the year at Anfield saw a dull, goalless draw.

Manchester United vs Liverpool Prediction and Pick

United won’t attack, and that is for sure. Solskjaer is satisfied with one point from this matchup, and as usual, when he faces such a situation, the Norwegian will close all the paths towards his net and wait for the rival’s mistake. When looking at Liverpool’s games, most of them are, in fact, low-efficient affairs. After writing all this, proposing anything else but under 2.5 goals would be insane. All the factors suggest that this is the best possible betting tip for Sunday’s clash.

Pick: Under 2.5 goals +100
