The final day of Royal Ascot takes place on Friday, and the feature race on the fifth day will have international attention. Runners from Australian and the USA will be lining up in the Platinum Jubilee Stakes, which will be run over a distance of six furlongs. The Group 1 has a talented field of entrants and cases can be made for many.

Before Betting On Horse Racing Platinum Jubilee Stakes

It has been a thrilling week of high-quality racing action at Royal Ascot, and the Platinum Jubilee Stakes will be the final Group 1 staged at the meet this year. We have a very hot favorite in the betting for the race, as Chris Waller looks for another big Australian winner in an Ascot sprint with Home Affairs. This three-year-old certainly boasts the best form in the race this year, as he recorded a victory over Nature Strip, who won the King’s Stand in dominant fashion earlier in the week.

The leading chance for the hosts this weekend is Creative Force for Charlie Appleby and Godolphin. This four-year-old returned to action at Meydan earlier in the year, as he finished way back in the G1 Al Quoz Sprint. However, he has won his last two at Ascot, which includes a victory at the royal meeting last year in the G3 Jersey Stakes.

American trainer Wesley Ward won this race in 2015 with Undrafted, and will once again have a solid chance with Campanelle. The four-year-old returned with a dominant success at Keeneland in April, beating Star Devine by two and a half lengths. He will certainly enjoy being back at Ascot, as he won the G1 Commonwealth Cup 12 months ago.

Many of the offshore betting sites won’t have odds available until the day of the race. I like the chances of the Australian-trained Home Affairs on Saturday, as the Aussies look to continue their dominance in the big sprint affairs. One horse that could go well at a bigger price is Great Ambassador for the leading jockey of the meet at present.
