The series has already been won by England, but they will be searching for a historic whitewash over Pakistan in the third test.

It has been a memorable year of cricket for England, which has already seen the nation claim T20 World Cup glory. However, the test team has been able to maintain that dominance in recent weeks, as they build up toward The Ashes in 2023. England has already sealed a memorable series win over Pakistan and in the third test they will be looking for the whitewash 3-0 series victory.

England’s batters were the stars of the show in the opening test, as the visitors won by a commanding 74 runs in dramatic fashion. In truth, this series has been a fine advert for test cricket, as the second meeting between the nations earlier this week was also a dramatic affair. England set a target of 355 for Pakistan to win, and for a long time, it looked as though they were going to manage that.

However, it was the turn of the bowlers to steal the show in the second test. In the second innings, Mark Wood was in excellent form, as he took four wickets and surrendered just 65 runs. Jack Leach and Joe Root also took wickets for England, while James Anderson maintained his excellent form by taking two wickets.

Following the thriller in Multan, the attention now turns to the third test, as England look to finish their historic tour on a high. This is already the first time that England has won multiple tests on Pakistan soil, and a third victory will be the target when the series continues at the National Stadium Karachi.
