The offshore sportsbooks aren’t expecting a whole lot of offense when the Ohio State Buckeyes (13-18) meet the Wisconsin Badgers (17-13) in the opening round of the Big Ten Tournament. OSU is the #13 seed for this matchup and Wisconsin #12, but it’s the Buckeyes who are the slight favorite (-2) with an O/U of 131.

Before Betting on Ohio State vs Wisconsin

Ohio State had to battle through this season, at one point dropping 9 straight games before beating Illinois and Maryland at home late in the year. OSU is a very young team led by freshman Brice Sensabaugh (16.5 ppg) so we will see if the long season – or the pressure of the tournament – starts to wear on the underclassmen.

Wisconsin played their patented lockdown defense once again this year, ranking 4th in the Big Ten while allowing 63.8 ppg. The Badgers also had the second worst scoring offense in the conference ahead of only last place Minnesota which is why UW prefers a slower pace and game in the 60s or even 50s.

The Badgers NCAA Tournament hopes could be riding in the balance on Wednesday night, as many prognosticators have them as one of the first four teams out as it stands right now. If Wisconsin can get a couple Big 10 tournament wins though, their resume may be just impressive enough toget them into the field of 68.

Ohio State vs Wisconsin Prediction & Pick

These two teams met once this season, with the Badgers picking up a 65-60 win in Columbus on February 2nd. The rematch should be equally low scoring, and Wisconsin getting points seems to be the way to go.

Pick: Wisconsin +2
