We expect a colossal fight at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas this Sunday. The home Raiders are awaiting the Indianapolis Colts in a match that could easily impact the entire season of these two teams. LV is 7-5 and the visitors have a slightly better record, 8-4, but neither of these two sides looked convincing in the past few weeks. They are both coming off wins, yet we can’t say they were impressive. A match in Nevada could tell us many things; among them are these two teams ready for the playoff challenges.

Unstable Colts

With three wins and two losses over five games, most of the teams in the NFL would be pleased. The same is with the Colts and their fans, but the overall performances of the franchise from the Lucas Oil Stadium are far from convincing.

They would beat the Houston Texas last week, 26-20, but previously suffer a major defeat at home to the Tennessee Titans a week earlier. That was one of the most important clashes of the year for Rivers and the boys, yet they couldn’t handle the pressure even though Colts trashed that same rival 14 days before.

The main problem here is the above-mentioned Rivers, who isn’t playing at the desired level. To be more precise, he isn’t consistent, and that is what hurts Indianapolis. Currently, he has just 18 TD passes, way below the projected stats before the season’s start.

Raiders’ First Big Test

This is arguably the most important game for the Raiders this year, and we might even say since Jon Gruden sat on their bench. Everything done up to this point won’t have any meaning if the silver-and-black miss the playoffs.

They won against the Jets in the last round, 31-28, after a very tough battle during which they looked very disorganized at certain points. Jets’ stupidity (or desire to lose and save the chances for the first pick) practically handed LV the victory that snapped a two-game losing skid.

Derek Carr is enjoying a nice season with 22 touchdown passes and five picks, with the Raiders’ QB looking like an elite playmaker. It seems that the cooperation with Gruden made him more consistent and increased the confidence, but that as well will be tested over the next five weeks.

Colts vs. Raiders Head to Head

Raiders faced Colts last year at the Lucas Oil Stadium, 31-24. That was their second win in the past three events.

Colts vs. Raiders Prediction

The margin for the total number of points in this match is 51.5. Knowing Gruden, he will make this one a low-intensity running contest, trying to control the clock and keep Rivers off the field. Also, he most definitely has something up his sleeve regarding the defense, which is why we don’t expect too many points. Under is our final choice, with the odds at -110.
