They say everything is bigger in Texas – and that includes the showdown that will take place in the National Basketball Association on Monday. The San Antonio Spurs are on the road at the Houston Rockets. The Houston Rockets are coming off their loss at the Raptors, and are now 51-14 on the season. The Rockets are leading the Warriors heading into Sunday night by 1/2 game for the top seed in the Western Conference. Houston has won 25 out of 31 at home.

The San Antonio Spurs have dropped to 7th in the Western Conference with their 37-29 record. San Antonio has dropped 8 out of their last 10, including two straight. San Antonio is just 1 game ahead of the 9th seeded Denver Nuggets. Rockets Looking to Bounce Back

The Houston Rockets are playing back to back games, as Sunday night they played in Dallas. The Rockets had their 17 game winning streak snapped with a road loss in Toronto. The Rockets are scoring 113.9 points per game, led by James Harden with 31.1 per game.

Harden is also the top assist man for the Rockets with 8.8, but Chris Paul has brought back some great offense to the Houston offense. A season ago, the Rockets eliminated the Thunder in the first round, as they won 55 games in the regular season. It was the third time in four seasons with 50+ wins in a season. Houston needs just 5 more win this season to surpass a season ago.

Spurs in Danger

The San Antonio Spurs are in danger of missing the postseason. Yes, Coach Popovich has a team that could miss out on the postseason. The Spurs can’t see to gain any traction, without their leader Kawhi Leonard. The Spurs hoping to get Leonard back later this week. The Spurs are 28th out of 30 teams in the NBA with 102.3 points per game. The defense still remains the same, very good for San Antonio, as they are allowing 99.6 per game.

The Spurs have had their streak of winning 60+ games in the regular season snapped at two, and likely will have their 50+ win streak snapped as well. San Antonio will have to finish 13-3 to reach 50 wins.

Rockets Blowout Spurs

The Houston Rockets are not going to mess around. The Rockets want to show that they are for real. The last time these two played, the Rockets offense just wore the Spurs down.
