The Green Bay Packers will host the San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football to wrap up week six of the NFL season. Both the Packers and 49ers have struggled to begin the 2018 season, and neither team looks like a playoff contender. The last time these two teams met was in 2015, a 17-3 win by the Packers.

Green Bay brings a 2-2-1 record into the game against the 49ers, and are in second place in the NFC North. The Packers are coming off of a week five loss to the Detroit Lions. The San Francisco 49ers are just 1-4 on the season, and are in last place in the NFC West. The Niners lone win of the season came against the Lions. The Green Bay Packers are -9.5 over the San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football.

Packers Struggling To Score

The Green Bay Packers have struggled to score points this season, which is the reason for their mediocre record. The Packers are averaging just 23.0 points per game this season, which ranks right in the middle of the pack. Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has thrown for over 1,500 yards this season, but just ten touchdowns. Green Bay should be able to score points in this game.

Veteran place-kicker Mason Crosby missed four field goals and an extra point in the week five loss to the Detroit Lions. Despite the struggles, the team has decided to stick with Crosby as their kicker moving forward. The Packers defense has give up the fourth most total yards this season, but the defense is much improved from a season ago.

Injuries Killing 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers have suffered through a ton of injuries already this season, and they will be shorthanded again in this game. Backup quarterback C.J. Beathard has struggled since replacing Jimmy Garoppolo as the starter. Beathard has completed just 62 percent of his passes and has thrown the same number of touchdowns and interceptions. Running back Matt Breida has averaged 7.5 yards per carry so far this season, but his status for this game is unknown.

The 49ers defense has struggled mightily this season, despite making a ton of moves during the offseason to improve that unit. San Francisco has given up an average of 29.2 points per game which is one of the worst in the NFL. The 49ers have forced just three turnovers this season, despite getting pressure on opposing quarterbacks.

Green Bay Blows Out 49ers

Both of these teams have struggled so far this season, but the Packers still have a ton of talent on the roster. The 49ers have lost a ton of players to injury this season, and this feels like a lost season for San Francisco.

The Green Bay Packers have been a mystery this season, but they should get back on track in this game. Look for Aaron Rodgers and the Packers offense to put up a ton of points in this game in a blowout win over the Niners. Bet the Green Bay Packers -9.5 over the San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football.
