We expect another great weekend of Major League Baseball action. Let’s take a look at some of our favorite MLB games that we think you should consider betting

Friday, April 20, 2018

The New York Mets travel to Atlanta to take on the NL East rival, the Atlanta Braves. Noah Syndergaard will be on the mound for the Mets and he will be opposed by Braves’ hurler, Sean Newcomb. Both teams have played pretty well to begin the 2018 season, but the New York Mets appear to be a top team in the National League. Many of the young position players on the Braves roster have yet to face the hard throwing Syndergaard, which should give him a clear advantage. Look to bet the New York Mets over the Atlanta Braves on Friday night.

The defending World Series Champions, Houston Astros, travel to the south side of Chicago to take on the White Sox. The rebuilding White Sox have gotten off to a rough start to the 2018 season, while the Astros look strong in their defense of their title. Former Cy Young Award winner, Justin Verlander takes the ball for the Astros. Verlander is 2-0 so far this season with a 1.35 ERA. The veteran hurler should have no trouble shutting down the struggling White Sox offense in the cold Chicago conditions. Bet the Houston Astros over the Chicago White Sox on Friday night.

Saturday April 21, 2018

The St. Louis Cardinals play host to NL Central foe, the Cincinnati Reds, on Saturday afternoon at Busch Stadium. Miles Mikolas is the scheduled starter for St. Louis while Homer Bailey will start for the Reds. Mikolas is coming off of a 7 inning outing against the Reds in which he gave up only 1 run. The Cincinnati Reds have a Major League worst run differential through their first 17 games. Look for the Cardinals to rough up Bailey and beat the Reds Saturday afternoon.

Potentially the most intriguing matchup of the weekend will take place Saturday night between the Washington Nationals and the Los Angeles Dodgers. Former Cy Young Clayton Kershaw will pitch for the home team, while Stephen Strasburg starts for the Nats. Both teams have struggles in the early part of the season, but should both be contenders come October. Kershaw is 1-2 on the young season, but sports a very low ERA of 1.73. Kershaw will be tough on the left handed batters of the Nationals, most notably Bryce Harper. Look for Kershaw and the Dodgers to beat Strasburg as the Nationals in a low-scoring game.

The Miami Marlins and the Milwaukee Brewers will be wrapping up a 3 game series on Sunday afternoon at Miller Park. Left hander, Caleb Smith (0-2 6.89 ERA) will start for the Marlins and Junior Guerra (1-0 0.82 ERA) will be on the mound for the Brewers. For the Brewers, Eric Thames is off to another terrific start at the plate. He leads the team in home runs (6) and total bases (31) heading into the weekend. The Brewers will provide enough offense to back-up Guerra and the Brewers will finish the weekend with a win.

NL West Rivals, Arizona Diamondbacks and San Diego Padres, will be wrapping up a 3 game series at Chase Field in Phoenix. Diamondback ace, Patrick Corbin, will be opposed by rookie Joey Luchessi of the Padres. Corbin is coming off of a one-hit shutout of the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday night. The Diamondbacks have a lineup full of right handed sluggers that includes Paul Goldschmidt and A.J. Pollock. Look for Goldschmidt and Pollock to give the young lefty a rude welcome in this game. Bet Patrick Corbin and the Arizona Diamondbacks to beat the San Diego Padres.
