The Grand Slam action continues on the ATP Tour at the start of July, as the men’s Wimbledon championship gets underway. As one of the biggest tennis events on the schedule, and the most prestigious Grand Slam event, Wimbledon is watched around the globe. But, which male star will come out on top in 2024?
Before Betting On Men’s Wimbledon Outright Winner
Wimbledon will get underway at the All England Club on July 1, with the 2024 champions crowned just under two weeks later at SW19 on Centre Court on July 14. The prestigious Grand Slam event has been staged annually since 1877, with this year’s event being the 54th of the Open Era. Roger Federer is the most successful player in the history of the championship, winning the top prize on eight previous occasions.
However, Novak Djokovic could tie the all-time record in London this year after dominating the event for much of recent history. His long unbeaten run at the competition that stretched back to 2017 was ended in the final last year after falling to Carlos Alcaraz in a five-set thriller. But, Djokovic has still won four of the last five editions of Wimbledon.
Djokovic’s involvement at Wimbledon this year is currently unclear, with the Serb forced to pull out of the French Open due to injury. Therefore, Carlos Alcaraz is likely to be a clear favorite. The Spanish star won his first Wimbledon title in 2023, and has continued his excellent progression with semi-final appearances at the US Open and French Open.
Jannik Sinner is also knocking on the door in Grand Slam events, and the Italian could add to his major successes at Wimbledon this year. The 22-year-old has already reached the semi-final at the French Open in 2024, which came after winning the Australian Open in a five-set thriller against Dannil Medvedev in February.
