It is safe to say that neither the Phoenix Suns nor the Memphis Grizzlies are anywhere near their expected positions. Both teams were predicted as title contenders before the season started, but right now, they look like they might not reach the playoffs at all.

Before Bettting on Memphis Grizzlies vs. Phoenix Suns

The Grizzlies have only 12 victories in 35 played matches this season, and we are free to say that this is a shocking record for the team from Tennessee. We know they did not have Ja Morant right at the start of the season and that Steven Adams is injured, but still, compared to the previous campaign, this is appalling.

The Grizzlies, however, showed some spirit when playing away from home since late December, winning four of the previous six road contests, the most recent in LA against the Lakers. We saw Jaron Jackson Junior dominating with 31 points while the former Defensive Player of the Year Marcus Smart had 29. Two more players were above 20 points, Bane 24, and Morant 21.

After a bit of a slower start, the Suns significantly improved just before the New Year, so it’s no wonder they are 5-1 since December 27. The only defeat during this stretch came by the hands of the LA Clippers, while one by one, the Rockets, Hornets, Magic, Blazers, and at last, the Heat suffered defeats.

A big problem for this group is Durant’s injury, with the former MVP skipping this matchup. Though, if Grayson Allen plays like against the Miami Heat, the franchise from Phoenix will have a solid chance of winning. Allen dropped 31 buckets, 11-for-19 from the field, while Bradley Beal flirted with a triple-double, 25 points, nine assists, and eight boards. Booker had 20 points and ten dimes.

The Grizzlies are certainly improving and have been delivering solid performances lately. Still, we will back up the hosts to win here solely because of the home-court advantage.
