Man United recovered from their humbling at Anfield last weekend in fine style at Old Trafford on Thursday evening with a straightforward 4-1 win against Real Betis. However, their attention turns back to domestic matters this weekend, as they look to get back on track in the Premier League against Southampton.

Before Betting On Man United vs Southampton

Man United’s mood would have lifted slightly on Thursday evening, as they recovered in fine fashion from their humbling defeat against Liverpool. The Red Devils were excellent in the second half against Real Betis, with Antony, Bruno Fernandes, and Wout Weghorst all finding the back of the net. However, United will be looking to solidify their place in the top four this weekend when they host Southampton.

United currently sits third in the Premier League standings, and will be looking for a third win in four matches. The Red Devils boast a very good recent record against the Saints, as they have gone six without defeat in home matches. Last season, the points were shared in the form of a 1-1 draw. However, United has won 36 points from losing positions in the Premier League against the Saints.

Southampton has a poor recent record against united since recording a 1-0 win at Old Trafford in January 2016. Since that win, they have gone 14 without a victory, losing on seven occasions. However, their form has improved since Ruben Selles took over, as they have picked up two wins from their previous three matches.

Despite that, the Saints remain 19th in the Premier League standings. However, they could move out of the bottom three this weekend with a victory, as they are just a point behind Leeds United, and two points off West Ham. The Saints were 1-0 winners in their previous fixtures against Leicester last weekend.

Man United bounced back extremely well in midweek, and their dominant record at Old Trafford this season could be key. We expect the Red Devils to continue that winning run with a victory this weekend.
