Just eight teams are left standing in the Europa League this term, and for the third round running, Manchester United will clash with a side from Spain. Sevilla has been one of the most dominant teams in the competition throughout their history, but domestically this term, the Spanish side has really struggled in La Liga.

Before Betting On Man United vs Sevilla

Manchester United remains one of the clear favorites to win the Europa League this term, and they will be hoping to make a commanding start to their last eight showdown against Sevilla on Thursday. The Red Devils have already seen off two sides from Spain since the knockout round got underway, which includes a dominant success over Real Betis in the previous round.

However, the Red Devils have historically struggled against Sevilla, as they are yet to win in three previous encounters against their rivals this week. The most recent of their clashes came in the Europa League semi-finals in 2020, as Sevilla claimed victory in the last four clash. Bruno Fernandes could be a key player for the hosts this week, as he has been directly involved in 27 goals across 37 European games.

Sevilla may still be one of the leading contenders to win the honor this season, but they have failed to win in their previous eleven games away from home in Europe. Meanwhile, they come into this game at Old Trafford after losing their previous three away from home. However, they haven’t lost four straight games on the road since February 2016.

But, Sevilla has an excellent record against teams from England, as they have progressed from six of their last eight. Their only defeats against English opposition have come against Leicester City and West Ham United, with the latter coming in the Europa League last season.
