The Louisville Cardinals were home favorites in their first three games this season yet they come to the Maui Invitational on Monday with an 0-3 record. There’s a very good chance that mark gets pushed to 0-4 for the Cardinals as their opponent the Arkansas Razorbacks have climbed to #9 in the country following their 3-0 start.
Before Betting on Louisville vs Arkansas
It’s no moral victory but Louisville might be the best 0-3 team in the country as each of their losses have come by just one point. That being said those were all home defeats too, and the quality of competition (Bellarmine, Wright State, and Appalachian State) aren’t exactly predicted to make the Final 4 this season.
The Cardinals are getting some nice scoring from El Ellis who has put in 29 points in each of the last two games, but his 24.0 ppg average is more than 1/3 of what the team scores as a whole (66.0). It’s hard to bank on Ellis shooting the ball well in his first away game of the season and with unfamiliar baskets in Maui.
Arkansas lost their top four scorers from a team that lost in the Elite 8 to Duke last season. While that might be a death knell for some programs, the Razorbacks have brought in two transfers in Ricky Council IV (18.7 ppg) and Trevon Brazile (14.0 ppg) who have made an immediate impact. Plus Arkansas has a new defensive minded approach (at least through three games) as no team has made more than 19 shots in a game vs. the Razorbacks this season.

Louisville vs Arkansas Prediction & Pick
You don’t like that Louisville doesn’t look like they have a ton of scoring depth behind Ellis, although they do have three other players averaging double figures this season. The Cardinals are frustrated after three straight one-point losses and when you mix that in with the neutral court and the trip to Maui then 15.5 points is just way too many.
