The Eastern Conference finals roll on this week, as the Tampa Bay Lightning look to edge ahead against the New York Rangers for the first time in the series. However, the Rangers will have home advantage, and will be looking to end any momentum that the Lightning had built following their game four victory.

Before Betting on NHL Lightning vs Rangers

We are no closer to finding the side from the East that will be clashing with the Colorado Avalanche in the Stanley Cup finals this season. It has been a thrilling series between the New York Rangers and Tampa Bay Lightning, but the away side for game five certainly comes into this game with the momentum behind them.

The Lightning are looking every inch like a Stanley Cup contender at this point, and their victory in game four could ultimately be the decisive factor when we look back at this series. Tampa stormed to a 4-1 success at the Amalie Arena earlier in the week, with two of their goals being scored in the final period.

Ondrej Palat finished with a goal and two assists, while further goals were added by Patrick Maroon, Nikita Kucherov and Steven Stamkos. For the Rangers, they must strike back and record a third straight home victory against the Lightning in this series.

Game five looks to be a crucial one for the Rangers, and the tide of the series could hinge on the fixture at Madison Square Garden. On the moneyline, bettors can get the best value on the Rangers at Pinnacle. However, momentum is such a big thing in the NHL playoffs, and therefore, we can’t see past the Lightning moving ahead in the series for the first time. Therefore, we like the -118 offered by BetOnline and SportsBetting.ag.
