  • Bukayo Saka’s missed chances

Inter Milan beat Arsenal 1-0 in the Champions League thanks to a controversial penalty call.

Inter came out of the blocks firing as Piotr Zielinski floated a ball to Denzel Dumfries who cannoned his shot against the bar. Arsenal mustered up a few chances as the half went on, but it was Inter who stayed on top.

The Nerazzurri got their reward just before half time. Mikel Merino was controversially adjudged to have handled the ball in the box. Hakan Calhanoglu stepped up, and made no mistake.

A Arsenal pushed for second, Mikel Arteta was booked for handling the ball on the field after he bizarrely wandered out of his technical area.

The Gunners kept pushing, with Stefan De Vrij blocking Bukayo Saka’s cutback on the goal line.

Arsenal would muster up 13 corners and put Yann Sommer under real pressure, but fail to get the goal they needed.
