One of the biggest races of the season for three-year-olds takes place at Monmouth Park on Saturday, as the Haskell Stakes is run. This race is run over 1 1/8 miles, and a purse of $1 million is available. In truth, the line-up for this looks more talented than that of the Belmont Stakes and Preakness Stakes, and it should be a thrilling encounter.

This weekend’s race offers a spot in the G1 Breeders’ Cup Classic at the end of the year, and any of these runners could easily stake a big claim in winning the feature at Keeneland. Bob Baffert’s nine wins in the Haskell since 2000 makes Taiba a leading chance.

White Abarrio and Cyberknife have both returned since running in the Kentucky Derby. Cyberknife won the G3 Matt Winn, while White Abarrio finished second in the G3 Ohio Derby. However, the standout star this weekend is Jack Christopher for Chad Brown.
The three-year-old is arguably the best horse in this division, and has furthered his reputation this year with two stunning victories. The latter of those came in the G1 Woody Stephens, as he beat Pappacap over seven furlongs by ten lengths. He could be very special as he stretches out for the first time this weekend.
