The London Derby between Tottenham and Chelsea is the game of the round in the English Premier League. The Spurs had a terrible week, which saw them losing two matches in a row. What is even more painful for Mourinho is the fact that his side won’t have its captain Harry Kane at disposal for some time. Meanwhile, Blues won their first game with the new manager, Thomas Tuchel, defeating pale Burnley, 2-0. Was this just a temporary spark or a start of better days for Chelsea? We shall see pretty soon.

Mourinho’s Headache

The Special One suffered a nasty slap in the face at home against Liverpool, who rolled over the Spurs, beating them 1-3. It could have been much worse for the hosts, as the Reds missed a few more changes along the way. Harry Kane injured his ankle in that one, which was another setback for the Portuguese manager.

What happened next, was equally bad for Spurs, who experiences a loss on the road against Brighton, 1-0. It was a devastating hit for Tottenham’s championship ambitions, who are almost wiped out after this contest.

The match against the Seagulls was the fifth in a row in which Spurs allowed at least one goal, and only the second in the previous six, that ended with under 2.5 scores.

Tuchel’s First Big Test

Winning against Burnley is not anything special, yet the Blues fans were a bit excited because of it, as their new manager posted his first triumph since joining Chelsea. Hopefully, the first of many to come. Two Spaniards, Azpilicueta and Alonso, scored goals, and again the offensive part of the unit had problems with execution. There is definitely something wrong this season with Abraha, Werner, Giroud, etc.

Just a few noticed that Chelsea didn’t allow a goal in the past two games after Tuchel’s arrival. Now that is a new moment for him and the London team, who often conceded goals at home this season.

Though, there is one interesting fact when talking about scoring in Chelsea’s matches. Five of the previous six saw both teams not to score.

For the German this is the first big test, and even though Tottenham has problems with injuries, the Spurs are always dangerous.

Tottenham vs. Chelsea Head to Head

The two teams already played twice this year, in the Premiership and the Carabao Cup. On November 29, the EPL clash at Stamford ended without goals, while exactly two months earlier, Tottenham eliminated Chelsea from the Carabao Cup after penalties.

Tottenham vs. Chelsea Prediction and Pick

A very tough match is ahead of us, with both sides willing to take one point from it. It is because of this that we believe in a low-scoring affair, with one or no goals at all. Try under 2.5 scores, as the odds bring a solid profit, -110. Mourinho will definitely defend, while Tuchel, too, won’t be keen on attacking the rival. He is still getting to know his team.
