Chelsea’s EFL Cup campaign gets underway on Wednesday, as they host Aston Villa for the second time this season. The two clubs only met in Premier League action a couple of weeks ago, with the Blues running out 3-0 winners

Aston Villa responded to that defeat with an emphatic 3-0 win over the last weekend against Everton, with Leon Bailey playing his part with an assist and a goal in a 20-minute cameo from the bench.

Chelsea maintained their excellent start to the season on Sunday with a comfortable 3-0 away success against Tottenham Hotspur. Despite a number of changes likely to be made for this fixture, Thomas Tuchel’s side should still have the quality to get the win.

Pick: Chelsea

Manchester United vs West Ham Odds & Prediction

West Ham and Manchester United lock horns for the second time in seven days, with this EFL Cup tie taking place at Old Trafford. United claimed a dramatic win against the Hammers in the final minutes of their league fixture at the weekend.

Jesse Lingard haunted the Hammers on his return to the London Stadium, while Cristiano Ronaldo found the net once again. Changes are likely to be made by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for this fixture, with Anthony Martial and Edinson Cavani likely to be among the players handed a start.

West Ham will also be able to recall Michail Antonio to the starting eleven for this fixture, as the striker missed Sunday’s defeat through suspension. Mark Noble may also be given the opportunity to rectify his penalty miss at the weekend by making a rare start, as Declan Rice is rested.

Despite United likely to make changes, they remain the most likely prediction when it comes to picking a winner in this cup fixture.

Pick: Manchester United

Another rematch from a previous match in the Premier League this season comes in the West Midlands, as Nuno Espirito Santo makes a second return to Wolves at this early stage of the season.

Spurs have been disappointing since winning at Wolves a couple of weeks ago, as they have lost their last two fixture. There will need to be a response following the hammering that they were on the receiving end of against Chelsea on Sunday.

Bruno Lage will also be hoping for a response from his side, as Wolves were handsomely beaten by Brentford in their last fixture. However, they will be confident of bouncing back in this fixture. We would expect the hosts to make it through to the next round.

Pick: Wolves
