What a way to wrap up the divisional round of the NFL playoffs as two legendary franchises renew their rivalry on Sunday night. The Dallas Cowboys (13-5) have revenge on their minds after the San Francisco 49ers (14-4) ended their season last year with a 23-17 win at AT&T Stadium in the wild card round. The 49ers ended up losing to the Rams in the NFC Championship Game.
Before Betting on Cowboys vs 49ers
San Francisco QB Brock Purdy continues to impress, throwing for 332 yards and 3 TDs last week in his playoff debut. The 7th round rookie Purdy has pushed his record to 6-0 as a starter and now has 16 TDs to just 3 INTs since filling in for the injured Jimmy Garoppolo in week 13. Rumors are that Purdy will be the 49ers starter to begin next season regardless of how the rest of the postseason plays out.
Dallas looked solid in a 31-14 win over Tampa Bay in the wild card round, but that’s also a very uninspiring Buccaneers team that made the playoffs with an 8-9 record. Dak Prescott was laser sharp going 25/33 with 305 yards, 4 TDs, and 0 INTs. The Bucs had a decent defense this season, but nowhere near the 49ers #1 ranked unit in the NFL that allowed just 300.6 ypg and 16.3 ppg.
There is a lot of familiarity in this game. These two teams met in the postseason last year and San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan was the offensive coordinator in Atlanta under current Dallas defensive coordinator Dan Quinn. It’s hard to tell who gets the edge there – or if there even is one – but neither is going to be surprised by the other on Sunday.

Cowboys vs 49ers Prediction & Pick
The 49ers rolled through Seattle relatively easily last week 41-23, and although Dallas is a higher quality opponent San Francisco looks like a Super Bowl bound team. The Niners great defense combined with a plethora of weapons on offense like Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, and George Kittle just makes them a very tough matchup – especially at home.
Pick: 49ers -3.5
