Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic are in the third finals this year. After Roland Garros and Wimbledon, we will see these two tennis geniuses in the Cincinnati Masters finals.

Before Betting on Carlos Alcaraz vs. Novak Djokovic Cincinnati Open

Carlos was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the Toronto Masters, which is his only loss since the defeat in the Roland Garros finals. Even though he performed well on the hard surfaces, it’s impossible not to notice that he isn’t dominant like on some other surfaces. Here in Cincinnati, the Spanish star lost a set in all his events.

He was better than Jordan Thompson, Tommy Paul, Max Purcell, and eventually Hubert Hurkacz, all with 2-1. Against the latter one, Alcaraz had to come back from behind, and that wasn’t the first time he encountered such a situation in Cinci.

Novak is perfect, beating Davidovich-Fokina (retired at 1-0), Gael Monfils, Taylor Fritz and Alexander Zverev in the semifinals. The Serb had a very tough contest against the German, which ended 7-6, 7-5, with both guys going to the edge and delivering a spectacle.

Zverev was sending rockets towards Novak, whose return still made the difference when needed, even though it wasn’t at some particularly high level. Novak didn’t play at any tournament after Wimbledon, and he might have more energy than Carlos.

That last sentence might be crucial here. Djokovic is fresh, unlike Carlos, who was in Toronto and also played a couple of Hopman Cup events. Also, he most definitely isn’t performing confidently enough on the hard surface as he did on clay or grass, while Novak doesn’t have such problems. Because of all this, our pick is on Djokovic to lift the Western and Southern Open title.
