There is one final round of midweek matches in the Premier League this week, before the final day is staged on Sunday. Man City have already picked up the league title, but they travel to Brighton on Wednesday, with the Seagulls chasing a point to secure a Europa League finish.

Before Betting On Brighton vs Man City

Man City round off their title-winning campaign with two matches on the road in the Premier League. That begins with a trip to the AMEX Stadium on Wednesday, as they look to register a 13th straight win in the Premier League. However, Pep Guardiola could make a number of changes for this fixture, with the FA Cup final against Man United just over seven days away.

City got their hands on the Premier League title on Sunday following a 1-0 home win against Chelsea. They come into this fixture with a solid record against the Seagulls, as they have won ten of their previous eleven against Brighton. The only exception to that trend was a 3-2 away defeat in May 2021.

That remains Brighton’s only win over the Citizens, while it is also their only victory in seven attempts against sides starting the day at the top of the Premier League standings. The Seagulls do tend to pick up wins in their final home match of the season, as they have won their last match of the AMEX in each of the previous two campaigns.

But, they will need to be stronger defensively this week, as they have allowed an average of three goals per game against City. Meanwhile, they haven’t ended their home campaign with three straight victories since 1993. But, they will be aware that a point on Wednesday will secure their spot in the Europa League next season.

It could be important to consider that Guardiola will likely make a number of changes for this match on the road. Therefore, we expect Brighton to pick up the draw that they require to secure their spot in the Europa League.
