Kiffin Looking for 10th in a Row

The Florida Atlantic Owls lost their first two games to Navy and Wisconsin, and then lost at Buffalo. Lane Kiffin and his team sat at 1-3, and many were poking fun at the first year head coach. Then – the Owls won 9 straight games, and won 8 of those by double digits. The only game that Florida Atlantic did not win by 10+ points was a 30-25 win over the Thundering Herd of Marshall.

The Owls thrive on running the football. One of the top running backs in College Football this season was Devin Singletary. The running back could get to 2,000 on the season with 204 rushing yards in this game. He rushed for 29 touchdowns in 2017. The Owls are 6th with nearly 285 yards per game on the ground.

Zips Struggle on the Road

The Akron Zips are looking to hang in there in this game. The Zips started the season 1-3 as well, with losses on the road at the Penn State Nittany Lions and Troy Trojans. The other loss was at home against the Iowa State Cyclones. The Zips lost in conference play to Toledo and Miami Ohio, and then again to Toledo in the title game. The losses to Penn State, Iowa State and Toledo came by a combined 123 points.

Thomas Woodson needs 223 yards to get to 2,000 passing yards this season. Kwadarrius Smith was the top target most of the season with 726 receiving yards and 7 touchdowns. Akron scored 25.6 points per game, which ranked 92nd in the nation. The defense for Akron allowed 26.3 points per game, which was 60th.

Owls Running Game Too Strong

The Florida Atlantic Owls are going go run, and run wild. The rushing game will not need much passing in this game as they blow out the Zips of Akron. Akron is not great defensively, and are not going to be ready for such a great rushing attack. A big game for the Owls may include up to 500 rushing yards.

The home team wins this game, and wins it big. It will be a rude welcome for the visitors from Akron. The final bet for the Boca Raton Bowl on Tuesday is the Florida Atlantic Owls -22 over the Akron Zips. Bet on the Florida Atlantic Owls -22 over the Akron Zips in the Boca Raton Bowl on Tuesday night in College Football action.
