In the Big 12 – the Kansas Jayhawks are at home to take on the Oklahoma State Cowboys This is the first of two meetings, with the two teams meeting up in the regular season finale on March 3rd. The visitors from Stillwater Oklahoma are 13-9 on the season and 3-6 in Big 12 play. The Cowboys are in 8th, tied with Iowa State in the Big 12 standings. The Cowboys are only ahead of Baylor.

For the home team – the Kansas Jayhawks are 18-4 on the season and lead the Big 12 conference standings with a 7-2 mark. The Jayhawks are coming off a road win at their rival Kansas State on Monday. The Kansas Jayhawks are -9.5  over the Oklahoma State Cowboys in Big 12 Basketball on Saturday. 

Jayhawks Looking to Keep Winning

Kansas is in a battle for one of the #1 seeds in the NCAA Tournament. The Jayhawks started the week ranked 7th in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll. The Jayhawks are at home for this game, and Tuesday against TCU before going on the road to Baylor and Iowa State following that.

Kansas is one of the top scoring teams in the nation with just shy of 84 points per game. The Jayhawks are led in scoring by Devonte’ Graham with 17.2 points per game, while Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk is adding 17 points per game. The Jayhawks are getting 13.5 from Udoka Azubuike while LaGerald Vick and Malik Newman are adding a combined 25.3 points per game.

Cowboys Seeking Huge Upset

The Oklahoma State Cowboys are looking to snap their three game losing streak, and overall they have dropped 4 out of their last 5 games. The Cowboys lost to TCU earlier this week at home by 13 points. The Cowboys are scoring 77.6 points per game, and allowing opponents over 72 per game.

The Cowboys are at home following this game against Baylor, before going on the road to West Virginia. Oklahoma State is going to need some help to get back to the NCAA Tournament for the 29th time in school history. The Cowboys are led in scoring by Jeffrey Carroll with 15.8 points per game. He leads a group of three that’s scoring double digits for the Cowboys.

Kansas Beats Oklahoma State

Kansas is one of the streakiest shooting teams in all of College Basketball When the Jayhawks get hot, they are nearly impossible to beat. Kansas shoots a ton of three point shots. The Cowboys are going to have to do what they can to run the Jayhawks off the three point line.

Kansas has already lost twice at Phog Allen Fieldhouse, and have three home losses on the season. The Jayhawks know they have to win to stay in first place in the Big 12.
