Out of the Big 12 – the Oklahoma Sooners are on the road to take on the Teas Tech Red Raiders on Tuesday. This is a huge game for both teams, as they are both looking to improve their stock before the NCAA Tournament. Oklahoma is 16-8 on the season but 6-6 in Big 12 play. The Sooners are tied with Kansas State for fourth place in the Big 12 standings.

The Texas Tech Red Raiders are leading the Big 12 Conference standings by a game over the Kansas Jayhawks. The Red Raiders are 21-4 overall and 9-3 in conference play. The Red Raiders have a huge game at home upcoming against the 13 time champion Kansas Jayhawks on February 24th.  The Texas Tech Red Raiders are -7 over the Oklahoma Sooners on Tuesday. 

Red Raiders Huge Surprise This Season

Chris Beard will be considered for National Coach of the Year, and his star Keenan Evans should be considered for National Player of the Year. Beard has led the Red Raiders to 21 wins in 25 games. The four losses for the Red Raiders came to Seton Hall, Oklahoma, Texas and Iowa State. SInce their last loss, the Red Raiders have won six straight games.

Evans is putting up great numbers as the floor leader of the Red Raiders He is scoring just shy of 19 points per game, and is one of three Red Raiders scoring double digits per game. The Red Raiders are known for their ability to defend. Texas Tech ranks 5th in all of College Basketball, as they are allowing just 62 points per game.

Sooners Looking to Bounce Back

The last time these two teams met – the Red Raiders came up short in Norman. The Sooners were in the middle of some of their best play of the season. Recently, Oklahoma has dropped three straight games and 6 out of their last 8 overall. The Sooners were recently beat on the road at Iowa State. The problem for Oklahoma is their defense, which is 336th in the nation, allowing 82 points per game.

Trae Young leads the offense. The freshman is scoring 29.5 points per game, and dishing out just shy of 10 assists per game. The Sooners are the top scoring team in all of College Basketball. Oklahoma is scoring 88.8 points per game. Oklahoma is seeking their 31st trip to the NCAA Tournament. In school history- the Sooners are 41-30 in tournament play, and have reached the Final Four five times.

Texas Tech Beats Oklahoma on Tuesday

This should be a great basketball game, with a bunch on the line. But, the Texas Tech Red Raiders and their ability to play defense is going to be the biggest key in this game. The Red Raiders are going to have a defensive plan to slow down Trae Young, and everyone else will have to beat them. Don’t think they can do that. The Red Raiders are going to win this game at home. Bet on the Texas Tech Red Raiders -7 over the Oklahoma Sooners in a Big 12 affair on Tuesday.
