The New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox will wrap up a three game series on Sunday night. The game will take place at Yankees Stadium and will be featured on Sunday Night Baseball to wrap up the weekend slate. The Red Sox-Yankees rivalry is widely considered as the best rivalry in baseball, and there is always bad blood between these teams.

The Red Sox and Yankees have split the first two games of this series, with both games having lopsided results. Boston and New York are in a very tightly contested battle for the top spot in the American League East. These two American League powerhouses will jockey for playoff position all season long.  The New York Yankees are -170 over the Boston Red Sox on Sunday Night Baseball.

Severino Pitching Like Ace For Yankees

One of the reasons for the Yankees climb to the top of the American League standings has been the dominance from Luis Severino. The young Yankees pitcher has been dominant so far in 2018, and will likely be heading to the All Star game this month. Severino is 12-2 with a 2.10 earned run average through his first 17 starts this season. The Yankees starter will try to navigate through a tough Red Sox lineup on Sunday night.

The New York Yankees continue to pound out home runs at a record setting pace. The Yankees have seven players who have hit at least 11 home runs this season, with Aaron Judge leading the way with 21. The Yankees were shut down in game two of the series, and were able to manage just two hits in the loss. New York must find a way to score in the series finale.

Red Sox Scoring Runs in Bunches

The Boston Red Sox are the second highest scoring team in all of baseball this season, and have a lineup that wears down opposing pitchers. After struggling in the series opener, the Red Sox pounded out 17 hits which led to 11 runs in the game two victory. Mookie Betts and J.D. Martinez have led the Boston offense through the first half of the 2018 season.

David Price will start for the Red Sox in the series finale. Price has had an up and down tenure with the Red Sox, but is having a terrific season for them on the mound. The veteran left hander is 9-5 with a 3.66 earned run average through 16 starts this season. Price will try to continue his strong season by shutting down the explosive Yankees lineup in the series finale.

Yankees Beat Rivals, Win Series

The Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees are hated rivals, and the rivalry appears to be intensified this season. Both the Yankees and Red Sox have goals of winning a World Series, and the two teams will likely meet in the 2018 playoffs. The first two games of the series have been blowouts, but the pitching matchup on Sunday night calls for a low scoring, competitive game. Take Luis Severino and the New York Yankees in this rival game on Sunday Night Baseball. Take the Yankees -170.
