Best Bet: Relief Rally to Land Group Three Success
William Haggas and Tom Marquand will be targeting more big race success at Newbury on Saturday, and they could be set to get their day off to the perfect start in the G3 World Trophy Stakes.
Relief Rally won four from five starts as a two-year-old last season, including the Super Sprint Stakes over five furlongs at Newbury. Continued to show promise over six furlongs in May when finishing a close second behind Elite Status in the Carnarvon Stakes, and that form has worked out well.
Annaf is the chief danger after showing plenty of promise before his disappointing run in the Sprint Cup two weeks ago.

Next Best: Brian Could Upset the Odds
The feature at Newbury on Saturday is a key trial for next year’s Classics, as a talented field of ten will go to post in the G2 Mill Reef Stakes. Powerful Glory and Shadow of Light both hold obvious claims, but Brian has form that ties in with some of the best in the division this season.
The two-year-old was beaten a neck by Cool Hoof Luke over six furlongs in June, with the winner on that day later beating Shadow Of Light by three-quarters of a length to land the G2 Gimcrack.
Brian also has course and distance form in the book after beating Think Of A Name by over five lengths in July. At +1000, he could present value this weekend.

Outsider: Sergeant Wilk Chases Four-Timer
The big race at Ayr on Saturday is the Gold Cup Handicap over six furlongs. As expected, a wide-open field of 25 go to post. Sergeant Wilko could be the interesting selection for trainer Kevin Ryan.
The three-year-old has won four from nine starts on the turf, which includes three on the bounce. His game success over six furlongs at Goodwood last month was another example of his character, as he held off challengers from across the track to win by a head from Tacarib Bay.
His front-running style will suit Ayr, and he could be primed for a big run against the older horses.
