Event Preview

The action on the DP World Tour moves onto Austria this weekend, as the Golf Club Kitzbuhel-Schwarzsee-Reith hosts the Austrian Open. A talented field will be involved, with the event covering a total of 6,822 yards.

Homecoming hero Sepp Straka will be a leading contender this weekend. The 33-year-old Austrian will be back in action for the first time since missing the cut at the PGA Championship, but his consistency remains eye-catching following a T4 finish at the Miami Championship at the end of last month.

South African player Casey Jarvis is another leading contender. The 22-year-old has rapidly improved on the DP World Tour this season, and he finished last weekend’s Soudal Open 22-under to take a share of 22nd.  Is already a two-time winner on the European Tour this season.

Oliver Lindell should also be considered after his T30 at the Soudal Open last weekend. The Finnish player has made the cut in all eleven starts in 2026. The consistent Daniel Hillier is also hard to dismiss despite failing to make the cut last time out. The 27-year-old is already a winner on the European Tour this season.

Austrian Open Picks

Plenty of players have leading chances this weekend, but Ben Schmidt could be an overpriced angle. The 23-year-old is excelling on the Tour this season, and he produced one of his most competitive rounds last time out when taking T8 and finishing just three shots off the lead at the Soudal Open.
