World Cup Group B Teams

Switzerland

Murat Yakin’s Switzerland will be favored in the Group Winner betting for the World Cup. The European nation have always threatened to be competitive at major tournaments, and there have been signs of the Swiss taking the step in recent competitions.

Switzerland have reached at least the round of 16 in the last three editions of the World Cup, while they have progressed to the quarterfinals in the last two EUROs. Their record since the start of last year is strong, beating both Mexico and the USA in North America, before pushing Germany to their limit in a 4-3 loss earlier this calendar year. A serious dark horse contender this summer.

Canada

There will be pressure on Jesse Marsch this summer, with the American coach appointed with the World Cup in mind. Canada have assembled a talented squad, headlined by Bayern Munich superstar Alphonso Davies, who will play in a more advanced position than he does for his club.

The Rogues will be playing at their third World Cup, but the nation is yet to record a win in six previous attempts. Performances have been mixed since the start of October, failing to win in four of their last five, and failing to score in three different matches. Finding the right balance will be crucial to their chances.

Bosnia and Herzegovina

Bosnia and Herzegovina could be the ultimate party crashers in Group B, as they open their World Cup campaign in Toronto against Canada on June 12. Sergej Barbarez’s team should be respected after knocking out Italy in European qualification.

However, wins have remained challenging to pick, claiming just two victories in five. Their chances will likely hinge on the performances of veteran striker Edin Dzeko. The former Man City star has scored 73 goals in 148 international appearances.

Qatar

After hosting the 2022 World Cup, Qatar have followed up by qualifying for the competition for the very first time in 2026. Julen Lopetegui’s team will be huge outsiders to reach the knockout round, as they have consistently struggled against higher-ranked opponents.

The nation has lost three of their last four, and they will also have the added disadvantage of playing no games in 2026 until three weeks before the start of the tournament. An aging squad has found creating chances challenging, scoring just once in their last three.

World Cup Group B Winner Picks

This should be a direct battle between Switzerland and Canada to top Group B, with the latter’s chances likely hinging on their matchday one result against Bosnia. Switzerland’s experience in major tournaments gives them the advantage, but we foresee Canada progressing as runners-up.
