An all-British heavyweight title bout is set for Wembley Stadium at the end of September, as Anthony Joshua bids to become a three-time world champion. AJ will come up against long-time rival Daniel Dubois, who bounced back to winning ways in each of his last two fights.

Before Betting On Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois

Tensions have already begun to increase ahead of the IBF world title showdown between Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois in the heavyweight division. The opponents needed to be held back by security during a recent press conference, in which AJ lost his cool and threatened to throw a chair at the reigning champion. The tensions between the two during that recent exchange has only set the scene for the upcoming bout for Oleksandr Usyk’s recently vacated title.

Joshua will be a heavy favorite for this showdown, as he attempts to become a three-time world champion. The British challenger previously fought for the world title in August 2022, but he was beaten in the unified bout by Usyk pretty comfortably.

Since then, he has returned to winning ways after landing victories in each of his last four bouts. That includes victories inside the distance in each of the last three. His most recent success was a stunning second-round victory against MMA star Francis Ngannou in Saudi Arabia in March.

Daniel Dubois will represent a step back up in class for Joshua, with his compatriot having constantly been regarded as a world champion in waiting. Dubois became the interim IBF champion back in June after scoring a stunning TKO win over Filip Hrgovic in the eighth round. That was his second straight victory following a controversial defeat against Usyk, and a victory over Joshua would set up a rematch against the Ukrainian in 2025.

Joshua is way too short in the betting for my liking for this heavyweight showdown in London. Dubois has the tools to hurt Joshua at Wembley, and we wouldn’t be surprised to see the current interim champion score a famous stoppage win over the former Olympic champion.
