Either Creighton (22-12) or Baylor (23-10) will best last year’s tournament showing, as each lost in the round of 32 in 2022. The Bluejays had an excuse as they lost big man Ryan Kalkbrenner to injury yet still fought hard in a 79-72 loss to Kansas. BU ended up falling 93-86 to North Carolina, ending their chances of repeating as National Champions. This should be a good matchup with just a 1-point betting line at the offshore sportsbooks.

Before Betting on Creighton vs Baylor

Creighton losing the 7’1 Kalkbrenner last year was unfortunate, especially after a decent 16/10 line vs. San Diego State in the opening round last year. Kalkbrenner is healthy in 2022/23, and he just went for 31 in Creighton’s 72-63 opening round win over NC State.

Creighton was also without Ryan Nembhard last year after he suffered a wrist injury in late February, but he’s back as well and put up a 10 point outing against NC State. This healthy Bluejays squad was able to get into the top 10 at one point this season so they are a tough opponent for the Bears.

Baylor has three players 6’10” or taller that can bang with Kalkbrenner on the interior, but the Bears success on Sunday night will be determined by their backcourt. Keyonte George, Adam Flagler, and LJ Cryer all averaged over 14 ppg during the regular season as BU posted the #2 adjusted offensive efficiency in the country.

Creighton vs Baylor Prediction & Pick

Kalkbrenner is a dominant post presence, but the Bears just have too much depth on offense as well as some big bodies to throw at the Creighton big man on the post.
