The #3 Kansas Jayhawks grew a lot last week, falling down by 15 at one point against Oklahoma State before never wavering and coming back to beat OSU 69-67 albeit as -10 point favorites. That has pushed KU’s win streak to six games, but five of those have been at home and now the Jayhawks have to travel to Texas Tech (10-3). The Red Raiders are 8-0 at home, and are a bit angry after having a six game win streak of their own snapped on Saturday in a 67-61 defeat at TCU.

Before Betting on Kansas vs Texas Tech

Texas Tech has not just won all eight of their games at home this season, they have now won 29 straight in Lubbock. That home mark includes a 75-67 win over Kansas last season, but the Jayhawks ultimately got the last laugh beating TTU 74-65 to win the Big 12 Tournament.

Texas Tech has been one of the best shooting teams in the nation this season (50.4% from the field) and they’ve found solid scoring depth with five players averaging in double figures. The Red Raiders were +6 point underdogs against 12-1 TCU on New Year’s Eve, but they still have to feel they let one get away after having an 11-point halftime lead. With there be a hangover on Tuesday when KU visits?

Texas Tech will welcome one of their (former) one back to Lubbock on Tuesday when the Jayhawks’ third leading scorer Kevin McCullar, Jr. (11.5 ppg) returns to campus after spending three years with the Red Raiders. Kansas has the #14 adjusted offense in the country thanks in part to the addition of the experienced McCullar.

Kansas vs Texas Tech Prediction & Pick

Texas Tech won on their own court against Kansas last season, but the Jayhawks have won six of the last seven in the series. The Jayhawks went on the road and beat – stomped – Missouri 95-67 to give the Tigers their first loss of the season, and Tuesday’s game against the Red Raiders has a very similar feel.

Pick: Kansas -2.5
