One of the real shockers to the 2022/23 college basketball season is the fact that Louisville (0-6) is yet to get a win. That trend is going to have a hard time ending on Tuesday night against #22 Maryland (6-0) in the Big Ten / ACC Challenge.

Before Betting on Maryland vs Louisville

We didn’t think Louisville was as bad as their 0-3 start to the season, because those losses came by a combined 3 points. Then again each was at home, and all three opponents were mid-major squads in Bellarmine (67-66), Wright State (73-72), and Appalachian State (61-60).

The Cardinals are back at home on Tuesday night and their trip to the Maui Invitational was no vacation. Louisville absolutely got rolled in the tournament in Hawaii, losing 80-54 to Arkansas, 70-38 to Texas Tech, and 81-62. All three of those teams are better than Louisville, but none of those games were even competitive.

Louisville has some talent as El Ellis had back to back 29-point games his last two at home, but he’s also the only Cardinals player averaging more than 9 ppg. Maryland on the flip side had three players go for 20+ in last Friday’s 95-77 win over Coppin State. The Terrapins’ 6-0 record includes wins over previously unbeaten St. Louis and Miami in the Hall-of-Fame Tip Off and by an average margin of 23 points.

Maryland vs Louisville Prediction & Pick

Maybe Louisville turns it around at some point this season but it really looks like things are going to get worse before they get better. This might be a game where Maryland would look past a winless team and not blow them out / cover the spread, but conference pride is on the line in the Big Ten / ACC Challenge so the Terps’ roll big here.
