After a 2-2 start, Phoenix has dropped eight of its last 10 games. This includes an 85-70 defeat at the hands of the Dallas Wings on Thursday night.

The Mercury remained within striking distance early, trailing by four points after the first quarter. But Dallas seized control for good over the middle frames, outscoring Phoenix by a 46-32 margin.
Lexi Held scored a team-high 17 points and collected four rebounds in 23 minutes of action off the bench. Kahleah Copper added 13 points, going 3-for-10 from the field. Phoenix struggled to generate offense, shooting 39 percent overall and 33 percent from beyond the arc.
Following three straight losses, the Sparks have responded with two straight wins. In their recent outing, they outlasted the Seattle Storm 88-83 on Wednesday night.
Los Angeles was unable to create separation against the Storm for most of the evening. But thanks to a 22-16 scoring advantage in the final frame, the Sparks came away with their sixth win of the season.
Nneka Ogwumike, who spent the last two seasons in Seattle, led four double-digit scorers with 24 points and nine rebounds. Kelsey Plum contributed 19 points and a game-high 11 assists.
The Sparks are aiming for their third straight win, doing so after a night in which they shot just 39 percent from the field and 9‑for‑35 from deep.
