Event Preview

One of the most prestigious events on the PGA Tour is set for this weekend, as the third-oldest continually run competition will be staged at TPC Toronto. The Canadian Open has been staged since 1904, and players will be competing over a distance of 7,389 yards to win their share of the $9.8 million purse.

Ryan Fox was an impressive winner of the Canadian Open 12 months ago, and he could be a player that is vastly overpriced this weekend. The Kiwi has been consistent without threatening a win this term, but his confidence will be high returning to the site of his biggest win to date.

Brooks Koepka has an excellent record at this event, and despite putting issues, he has finished in the top 20 on six occasions since returning to the PGA Tour. Aaron Rai is another player that is massively overlooked, despite winning the recent PGA Championship. Rai has finished in the top 25 on his last four starts.

Tommy Fleetwood was an excellent runner-up at the Canadian Open back in 2023. His return to form is encouraging after finishing in the top five in two of his last three starts. Sam Burns should also be considered this weekend, finishing T4 at the Memorial last weekend.

RBC Canadian Open Picks

At bigger odds, Kristoffer Reitan could be very interesting this weekend. The Norwegian rookie ranks well in terms of OWGR in 2026, and his excellent form has already seen him win this calendar year. Consistency is on his side after claiming five top-15 finishes in his last seven starts.
