Pocono Raceway hosts action on the NASCAR Cup Series schedule this weekend, as The Great American Getaway 400 takes place on June 14. This race has been staged on the NASCAR schedule since 1974, and the field will complete a total of 400 miles. A total of 160 laps will be completed by the field, with Denny Hamlin holding the record for the most race wins.
Hamlin looks like a standout contender this weekend once again after winning each of the last two races. He was a dominant winner of the FireKeepers Casino 400 last time out, and he has now finished in the top three in four of the previous five races.
Tyler Reddick continues to lead the Drivers’ Championship, but he will need to bounce back to form on Sunday after enduring his worst result of the season last time out. Ryan Blaney has been one of the most consistent drivers in recent weeks, achieving top-ten finishes on his last three starts.
Chase Elliott and Ty Gibbs will also be two further drivers who will be aiming for a reversal in fortunes this weekend. Kyle Larson could be a dangerous contender after rising to sixth in the Drivers’ Championship standings after finishing in the top-five for the second time in three races.
There is a strong chance that Denny Hamlin records three straight wins this weekend. Hamlin’s confidence will be sky high after winning the last two races, while his experience at Pocono has seen him win The Great American Getaway 400 on five previous occasions.
