Zack Littell is 5-4 with a 5.01 ERA. He has been a reliable depth option for Washington in the past three years as a Rays starter before joining the Nationals, with a career ERA under 4.00 through May 31, but the 2026 surface numbers reflect a pitcher in a rough stretch. The 5.01 ERA is not being held down by a favorable FIP. He has been giving up runs.
Washington is 12-20 on the road. The Nationals' offense has productive pieces. James Wood has been one of the better young hitters in the NL this season, but they have not been able to string together wins away from home consistently.
Eduardo Rodríguez is 5-1 with a 2.24 ERA. That number is the result of a genuine turnaround. He posted an ERA over 5.00 in each of his first two seasons with Arizona, and the expectation coming in was more of the same. Ketel Marte and Corbin Carroll anchor a lineup that scores enough to support a good start.
