Canes Aiming to Strike Back

It has been a dominant post season campaign for the Carolina Hurricanes, but questions will be asked ahead of Game 2 after losing their second game in the playoffs. Defensively, they were vulnerable throughout Game 1, allowing two goals in each of the second and third periods.

Nikolaj Ehlers was a standout offensive player, scoring twice. The other goals for the Canes in Game 1 were scored by Jordan Staal and Shayne Gostisbehere. A disappointing night in goal for Frederik Andersen saw him make just 18 saves from 23 shots.

Vegas Hoping to Take Control

The Vegas Golden Knights upset the odds in the Western Conference Finals to stun the Colorado Avalanche in four games. Their excellent form has continued into the Stanley Cup Finals, and they have now won their last six postseason games on the bounce.

Despite trailing after the opening period, the Golden Knights struck back efficiently in the second and third periods on Tuesday, scoring two goals in each. Shea Theodore, Brett Howden, Ivan Barbashev, and Tomas Hertl all scored goals in the road success.
