The Sparks and Mystics face off in a key matchup on Friday night. Los Angeles is heating up but will face a tough challenge on the road without Kelsey Plum. Washington will look to get back on track.

The Sparks earned a huge win over the Aces, climbing to 3-3 after notching back-to-back victories. Unfortunately, they also lost the red-hot Kelsey Plum to injury in the victory. Without her, LA's early-season struggles are likely to rear their ugly head again. The Sparks will be aiming to avoid that and continue their winning ways on the road against the Mystics. Cameron Brink will also seek to continue her development.
Washington has had an up-and-down season so far, flashing signs of brilliance but also showing the inexperience of one of the WNBA's most youthful rosters. It's hard to pin them down in the early going, but a win at home over the Sparks would be key for their argument as a potential playoff team. 2nd-year stars Sonia Citron and Kiki Iriafen continue to lead the way for an up-and-coming Washington Mystics team.
This matchup features the teams that rank 13th and 14th out of 15 in the league in point differential. Both squads are playing below their ability and ceiling, looking to use this game as a starting point for major improvement. The Sparks have more veteran talent which cannot be overlooked, but they face an uphill battle in this one against the Mystics in Washington. Without Kelsey Plum, expect them to come up short.
