The Dream and Fire meet in a stellar Friday night clash. Portland will look to build on a three-game winning streak, but faces an uphill battle against the 4-2 Dream. Atlanta enters as the wide favorites.

The Dream dropped out of the WNBA's #1 spot following their loss to the Lynx, as they played their worst game of the season thus far. It was a tough shooting night, as Atlanta was outshot 60% to 45% from the field. They will be aiming to get back on track in what should be a winnable game against the expansion Portland Fire. Rhyne Howard will look to bounce back after going 4-14 from the field in 36 minutes on Wednesday.
The Fire currently hold a tie for the longest current winning streak in the WNBA at three games. They improved to 2-1 on the road after beating Toronto and New York over the weekend, and then followed it up by climbing to 3-2 at home in a sloppy game against the Sun. Portland will need to be much more consistent to avoid falling to 5-5 after this back-to-back with the Dream and Fever. They currently sit at #4 in the standings.
As stunning as Portland's early-season success has been, they face a massive challenge to claim their fourth win in a row in this game. The Fire were massively outrebounded by the Sun on Wednesday, an issue that Angel Reese is certain to exploit if they cannot overcome it. If they allow Atlanta to mop up second-chance opportunities, it will be hard to keep up, even if they are shooting well. Take the Dream to win this matchup.
