Can the Cavaliers extend their season following a wire-to-wire defeat?

After dropping the first two games at Madison Square Garden, Cleveland needed to respond in a big way. Sadly, that did not come to fruition, as the home team was defeated 121-108 and trails this best-of-seven series 3-0.

The Cavaliers trailed by double digits after the first quarter before rallying to tie the game at 50. But a 10-1 surge before the break swung the momentum back in New York's favor in a game the road team never trailed.

Evan Mobley led a balanced scoring attack with 24 points and six rebounds. Donovan Mitchell scored 23, while James Harden contributed 19 points. The trio combined for 16 of the team's 18 turnovers.

Can the Cavs take the first step toward becoming the first team to overcome a 3-0 deficit in an NBA playoff series, or will New York close things out on Monday night?

New York's hot streak continues on the heels of another brilliant performance

On the other side of this matchup, the Knicks jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. Although the Cavaliers managed to pull even in the second quarter and within nine points in the fourth, New York answered each run with one of its own en route to a double-digit victory.

All five starters reached double figures for the Knicks. Jalen Brunson delivered another 30-point performance, with six assists and three rebounds. Mikal Bridges put up 22 points and collected six boards, while OG Anunoby chipped in with 21 points, including a 3-for-4 effort from beyond the arc.

In addition to six players tallying double-digit scoring totals, the Knicks shot 56 percent from the field, 11-for-28 from deep (39 percent), and went 24-of-27 from the charity stripe. Not only that, New York is the seventh team in NBA history to win 10 straight postseason games, and they have won five consecutive road games by double-digits, tying an NBA record.

Cavaliers vs Knicks Game 4 NBA Pick

Cleveland enters this contest as a two-point underdog. Here's a look at what you need to know for both teams ahead of Game 4.

  • The Cavaliers are 1-4 (SU) in their previous five games.
  • Cleveland is 1-4 ATS in its last five outings.
  • The Knicks are 10-0 (SU) in their previous 10 contests.
  • New York is 9-1 ATS in its last 10 matchups.

The Cavaliers have not shown the ability to slow down New York. Not only have the Knicks won 10 straight games, but they have also imposed their will against Cleveland in this series. That said, the edge goes to the road team.
