  • The Dallas Wings are 9-29 and have the worst record in the West.
  • The Connecticut Sun are 9-28 and tied for the worst record in the East.
  • These teams previously squared off on Jun. 20, with the Wings winning by a narrow 86-83 margin.

One of the games on Wednesday’s WNBA slate features the Dallas Wings hosting the Connecticut Sun. Who comes out on top in our Wings vs Sun pick?

Wings Look To Snap Five-Game Slide

After snapping a five-game skid with a one-point win against the Fever, Dallas finds itself amid another five-game losing streak since that victory. Their latest setback includes a 90-81 loss to the Golden State Valkyries on Sunday.

Dallas got off to a slow start and trailed by double digits after the opening 10 minutes. But in the second quarter, the Wings doubled up Golden State by a 26-13 margin to take a 38-36 lead into the break.

Golden State responded with a 25-17 scoring edge in the third quarter before holding on for a nine-point win. With a much-needed victory under their belts, the Valkyries remain in contention for one of the last postseason berths.

Maddie Siegrist led a balanced scoring attack with 16 points, five rebounds, and three steals. Myisha Hines-Allen added 15 points and eight boards off the bench.

Connecticut Seeks Fourth Victory In Five Games

The Sun’s recent three-game win streak ended courtesy of an 81-79 loss to the New York Liberty on Monday night.

Despite falling behind by double digits early and trailing by as many as eight points in the fourth quarter, the Sun battled until the end. A pair of free throws from Aaliyah Edwards pulled them within 81-79 with 23.6 seconds left in regulation. Unfortunately, with a chance to send the game into an extra frame, Sabrina Ionescu stole the ball from Leila Lacan to preserve the win for New York.

Lacan powered the offense with 22 points, three rebounds, and three assists off the bench. Aneesah Morrow posted a double-double that consisted of 18 points and 15 rebounds. Unfortunatley, it wasn’t enough to prevent Dallas from losing for the 10th time in 11 games.

Wings vs Sun WNBA Pick

Dallas is ninth in scoring and 12th in points allowed per contest. On the other side, Connecticut is last in offensive efficiency and has the fourth-worst defensive rating in the association.

These teams have produced only nine wins each this season and struggle at both ends of the court. In a game that could go either way, the edge goes to Connecticut, given the fact that the Wings are 1-9 during the month of August.
