One of the games on Wednesday’s WNBA slate features the Dallas Wings hosting the Atlanta Dream. Which team has the edge in our Wings vs Dream pick?
Wings Look To Knock Off Another Top-Tier Opponent
Dallas ended a two-game skid with an impressive 92-82 win over the New York Liberty on Monday night.
The Wings held a 31-19 advantage after the opening stanza and increased the lead to 86-63 heading into the final frame. Despite playing without Breanna Stewart, the Liberty responded with a 20-3 burst that trimmed the deficit to 88-82.
Paige Bueckers and DiJonai Carrington hit a pair of free throws down the stretch to help Dallas hold on for an improbable win, considering they scored just seven points in the game’s final 10 minutes. Bueckers and Arike Ogunbowale powered the Wings’ scoring attack with 20 points apiece.
Atlanta Aiming For Third Win In Four Games
The Dream saw their two-game win streak snapped with a 77-75 loss to the Golden State Valkyries on Tuesday night. In a game between two of the top-five defensive ball clubs in the “W”, the Dream and Valkyries battled to a 39-39 tie at intermission. Golden State enjoyed a 30-17 edge in the third period.
And although Atlanta held the Valkyries to eight points in the fourth quarter, the road team managed to escape with a two-point victory. Jordin Canada was the top performer for the Dream, finishing with 21 points and eight assists on 6-for-11 shooting overall and 4-for-8 from 3.
Wings vs Dream WNBA Pick
Dallas is ranked seventh in scoring and 10th in points allowed per outing (86.4). Meanwhile, Atlanta is ranked fourth in offensive efficiency and defensive rating.
While the Wings are fresh off a solid win against the defending champs, the Dream have won four of the previous five meetings in this series. That said, look for that trend to continue when these teams square off on Wednesday night.
