Valkyries Continue To Make Playoff Push In Their Inaugural Season

Golden State has won its last two contests, including a dominant 99-62 victory against the Washington Mystics on Saturday night.

The Valkyries enjoyed a 19-8 scoring edge after the first quarter. Thanks to a 23-9 run to close out the first half, they led by an insurmountable 51-22 margin at the break.

Janelle Salaun led the way with 20 points and six rebounds on 7-for-11 shooting overall and 4-of-7 from beyond the arc. Kaila Charles contributed 16 points and four rebounds, connecting on seven of her 12 shot attempts.

Indiana Looks To Solidify Its Hold On the No. 6 Spot

Like its opponent, the Fever are also riding the wave of a two-game win streak, including a narrow 76-75 victory against the Los Angeles Sparks on Friday.

Indiana trailed by seven points after the first quarter, but the outcome was not determined until the final seconds. After the Sparks’ Azura Stevens gave the home team a one-point lead, Odyssey Sims put Indiana back up 76-75.

Aliyah Boston had a key steal before Kelsey Mitchell missed a pair of free throws. Fortunately, the Sparks were unable to get off a shot on the final possession, enabling the Fever to escape with a one-point victory.

Boston powered Indiana’s offense with 22 points, 11 rebounds, six steals, and four blocks. Sims registered 21 points, six rebounds and three assists on 50 percent shooting.
