Connecticut Seeking Its First Two-Game Winning Streak Of The Season
Connecticut ended a four-game winning streak with a dominant 95-64 victory against the Golden State Valkyries on Sunday afternoon.
The Sun trailed 2-0 early on. But after a 3-pointer from Saniya Rivers gave them the lead, they never looked back after that. Connecticut led by eight points after the opening quarter and 49-33 at the break.
The home team continued to pour it on in the second half, outscoring its opponent by a 46-31 margin. Thanks to season highs in points, three-point field goals (12), and conversion rate (53 percent), the Sun put together their best performance of the season thus far.
Was the rout of Golden State a fluke, or will Connecticut pull off another upset against Seattle?
The Storm Look To Bounce Back From Double-Digit Loss Against Washington
After a wire-to-wire 95-57 victory over the Chicago Sky, Seattle came up short against the Washington Mystics 69-58.
Seattle trailed by 15 points (60-45) entering the final frame. But thanks to a six-minute stretch in which it scored 11 straight, the lead was trimmed to 60-56 with four minutes left to play.
However, a free throw and layup by Kiki Iriafen ignited a 9-2 burst that enabled Washington to hold on for a double-digit victory despite scoring nine points in the game’s final 10 minutes.
Sun vs Storm WNBA Pick
In addition to having the worst record in the association, Connecticut is ranked last in both scoring (73.3 PPG) and points allowed per outing (88.5). Meanwhile, Seattle holds the No. 8 spot in offensive efficiency and has the second-best defensive rating.
The Storm took two of three meetings in 2024, and have won two of the three matchups this season as well. With that in mind, look for their success to continue when these teams clash on Monday night.
