One of the games on Sunday’s WNBA slate features the Connecticut Sun hosting the Chicago Sky. Which team gets back into the win column in our Sun vs Sky pick?
Connecticut Looks To Bounce Back From Poor Showing Against Washington
The Sun have dropped seven of their first nine games and enter this contest on the heels of a 37-point loss against the Mystics on Jun. 8.
Tina Charles was one of three players who recorded a double-digit scoring total. She finished with 17 points and nine rebounds. Marina Mabrey chimed in with 15 points, eight assists, and seven rebounds.
Connecticut trailed 50-36 at halftime, and it only got worse from there. Washington started the third quarter with a quick 11-2 burst en route to outscoring the Sun by a decisive 54-31 margin in the second half.
Sky Hope To Snap Three-Game Slide
The Sky find themselves amid a three-game losing skid for the second time this season, following an 88-70 defeat at the hands of the Atlanta Dream.
Chicago’s frontcourt duo of Kamilla Cardoso and Angel Reese did most of the heavy lifting in this one. Cardoso scored 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Reese added 12 points and also collected nine rebounds.
The Sky were within striking distance, trailing by four points entering the final period. Unfortunately, Atlanta went on an 18-3 run, which extended its lead to 79-59, putting the game out of reach.
Sun vs Sky WNBA Pick
Connecticut is ranked last in both offensive and defensive efficiency. Chicago has the second-worst scoring average in the association (76.0 PPG) and is ranked last in scoring defense, surrendering 89.5 points per contest.
In a battle between a pair of teams with an identical 2-7 record, Chicago should come out on top when these teams clash on Sunday afternoon.
